The North Sea Clothing is a very nice one with the wide waistband. Alex Hills has one and it just screams vintage.

Ironically, the originals don't have as deep a waistband as the NSC ones....! I'm sure I've got a scanned copy of a knitting pattern for it if it might prove of use to Simon or others. Edit: I would love to persuade Simon to make one of these for the workwear collection as that's essentially what it was. Covered in oil and grime, they look great!

It is rather, isn't it?
It was on eBay ages ago, and I've posted it in the knitwear threads here a few times. Looks like a near perfect please everyone jumper. The only problem would be producing or adapting a pattern to make it... that's the kicker. The problem nowadays is that most of our time is spent indoors in well heated buildings, public transports, cars,etc... I can unbutton a cardigan but not a roll neck sweater. I think I've only worn the SJC cardigan a few times in the street after I played with it shrinking it a bit. This is how the North Sea Clothing wears: ![]()

Roll necks and such feels a bit irritating in combination with my long beard. i feel trapped! ![]() But when I finally get sick of all the facial hair I may trim it down a bit and wear a turtle neck, Hemingway style!
