The fake backgrounds are a terrible choice when it comes to advertising in my opinion. It makes your brand look amateur.

That fabric is probably a good option for an everyday dress as it's quite tough.

She looks good, but I wonder if she could have worn the next size down? I am not saying it is the wrong fit, but I wonder of even more curves might have attracted male buyers who think their 'other half' would look as good in the dress.

Na don't. I just talked about this topic with a few vintage wearing gals and they are kinda tired of it. Brands like stop staring kinda push the look for 30s to 40s even tho it's more a mad men thing. But the gals don't like to feel like sexy sausages. The fit above is more grown up.

No promotion on social.media yet? Going for a soft release? Testing the waters?

Yes, what is the marketing plan? Have you contacted that woman in the Netherlands (the fashion editor for two super-famous international magazines) who really liked your stuff? You are crazy if you don't send her a dress.

Herself seems to think the concept is good, but would prefer something a bit longer (mid-calf, 30s/40s, not this more Sixties length).
A comment on the cut she says further is that this is one for the "slender" girls - with no pleating or detailing, it's "not one for women with tits, hips, or a belly". Pleating, she reckons, would help. The fit stuff is beyond me, though I can see the point about length; I suspect girls who aren't into the Sixties thing would feel it a bit short, though for moderns I'm sure it will have an appeal. A long-sleeve version would be good for Winter, in the heavier cloth of the original longsleeve polos.

Am I the only person who thinks it a bit odd to have a discussion in the forum about a ladies polo shirt dress without any ladies in the discussion?

They will come soon enough.
Darts were added in the front for breasts and to help the dress lay flat around the middle.

I remember the pink sample from a year ago. I think the same way you ask for feedback here you should ask for it to the ladies in the vintage scene. Do they need a beach dress in their life? Is it something they demand or would spend money on?

Guille in time they will come, perhaps, as I am going to start releasing women's wear.
This dress is a low cost/risk toe in the water test for me to see how things unfold. |
