Hmm most peculiar.  My son has been living in his balmorals and he is a history student walking to college daily in London (and it does tend to rain most days here) with only praise for the boots. My boots same, all dry. So I can only think there might be a fault, pm me and let's resolve this.

They can stand rain, but don't you guys fish through ice? I hear stepping in those holes can be leathal.

At times people go for a dip in the larger holes as well. But usually without boots on.

Absolutely loving the boots, but skip the teacore next time. Or make the brown leather beneath the black dye really, really 86% cocoa dark chocolate brown, and the black dye a bit more resistans to abbrasion, because I was just polishing the boots with black polish and I managed to make the toe lighter in color. Granted, it doesnt look half bad and fits with the sort of hobo chic-look I am going for. But I’d prefer it darker.

I don't see any mention of this in the boots description Simon. I would make 100% sure that people who buy the black version are aware of this details because otherwise they might be disappointed.

Another round of black shoe polish will bring them up to an even finish. Try that.

I don't see any mention of this in the boots description Simon. I would make 100% sure that people who buy the black version are aware of this details because otherwise they might be disappointed.

To be fair, the description does refer to them a brown with a dusting over of black, but I'd definitely have been more explicit about this.... might be worth, even, having the photo above on the website so potential buyers can see it. It's not for me, but maybe the guys who want their leather jackets to do this might fancy matching boots (though to date I've only seen engineer boots with this aesthetic).



For anybody who wants to take it back to black, I would recommend looking into the car restoration scene: my dad used to use a cream that came in a tube which both rejuvenated dried and crack seats and brought the colour up like new. A few years ago I did the same with an old bike jacket using a bottle of stuff called Black Leather Jacket - brush on, leave to dry, buff with a soft cloth, good as new. not used it on shoes, though.
