Here's the presumably 1960s jacket that was discussed a while back. I decided to take it after all. The liner does look 60s in person as well while the construction and details are nicely conservative.
The deep center vent extends up to the natural waist which gives the jacket a decidedly military look. I don't think I ever saw a vent like that outside military dress uniforms and bush jackets.
The back seam has been let out by the previous owner which throws the upper back off balance (note the horizontally bunched up fabric); this alteration needs to be reversed.
All in all an interesting oddity.

That jacket is certainly a confusing artifact.
I think the overall 'brick red' impression of your leisure shirt (from a distance) would be a good shade of red for the SJC polos.

The color of the rayon shirt is more like burnt orange (similar to the #83 sample in the polo thread). The photo was taken at 2 PM today - sun high in the sky, heavy contrast, which is hard on color rendition.
