Another sunny day, so a White Jacket opportunity.
Here's the only Type 3 I own, a Lot 840B. I know a little bit about the thing, but I'd love to find out more about it, if anyone can help. AFAIK, Levi, for whatever reason, produced a short run of these in 1967. They were unusual (apart from being white) in that they had NO red tab, the backs of the buttons were marked with an "O", and the sizing was WAY off (mine is marked as a 44, but in fact is a size 40 - bizarrely, the only other one I have read about was the same size). The great thing about it is that when I was lucky enough to acquire it a couple of years ago, it appeared to be in absolutely brand new condition. The label in the neck shows no sign of having been washed, and the factory creases are still in the sleeves. I had a white Type 3 back in the 60's (maybe one of these - my memory is hazy about many aspects of my Mod days!) - little did I think I would buy another one almost 50 years later! ![]() ![]() PS. Not many folks seem to post in WYWT. Come on, guys. Show us your stuff! ![]()
Am I missing something, or is it only Simon, Resort and me that actually wear the stuff we talk about?
Ah well, here's a bit of Salt N Pepper, Wabash and Denim. Red Cloud, FreeWheelers and Mister Freedom. ![]() Bring on the Wabash, Simon! ![]() PS. Notice the bulge on the left side chest? This is one of the few jackets I have with an inside pocket, and stupidly, I've put my phone in there. Do I want inside pockets? NO!!

Nice Jon, thanks for posting, digging the correct short length of the teen trousers, excellent!
Don't have any actual photos of myself today (don't often remembeqr, and as for the moment my only regularly accessible camera is my field telephone, it's not always viable to get a half decent photo. Today I'm not dressed much differently than in this photo:
![]() I'm in the front row, towards the right: green trews, green tweed jacket, faux-Fairisle top, brown fedora, pipe and unfurled umbrella. Today I'm wearing a Hepville Harris Tweed eight panel in green, purple pocket square and lilac/purple vintage tie (the only genuinely vintage element in the outfit) with a lilac shirt, though otherwise the same. Fairly standard office outfit for me these days. Oddly close to how my own paternal grandfather dressed in the early fifties, when he'd probably have been close to my age or a bit younger. Three or four useful pockets on the waistcoat (can't quite see in photo, but I think there are two at the sides and one in the breast?) would make it a very nice casual alternative to a jacket in the worst of London weather (i.e. July and August). Some cowboy stuff is too extreme for me, but I like a lot of stuff that's just a bit Western leaning, looks great with the rockabilly thing. Jeans are nice - the button up / down pocket flap detail is really a nice touch. Are they Chinese too? Ha, I couldn't live without an inside pocket.... especially now most field telephones I'm likely to own are a bit big for most trouser pockets.... I do really like that jacket though. Is it the Mr Freedom piece? I could see that looking great with the dungarees (Wabash both? Technically dd, but somehow the strips, I think, would keep it from looking Jeremy Clarkson...). (Worth noting I've lost at least a stone sicne the shot above was taken..... only another five inches roun the waist to go!).

Thanks Edward yes it is a prototype, belted back nothing fancy as its 16oz Harris wool. I'll try and get you a shot soon. I'm looking forward to playing with that Magee 19oz lambswool.
Hi Edward.
Yes, Blue Blanket is the brand name for the pin-striped Jeans and vest. They are an artisan maker in Pescara, Italy. The jeans are a limited edition called IJJ, which stands for Indiana Jeans Jeans - a collaboration with Brit Eaton, who is often called Indiana Jeans, as he spends his life searching out long lost vintage jeans - have a look HERE to read about him. The Wabash jacket is a FreeWheelers Japan Railroad Coat, complete with removable buttons like the originals, so the Railroad folks could use their particular buttons as supplied by the Railroad company they worked for. Took me some time to get the fit I wanted, but well pleased with it. The Jeans with the folded pocket tops are Mister Freedom Buckaroo's - lovely wide-legged jeans - and some great detailing. BTW, don't worry about DD - I sometimes do triple - and I can't stand Clarkson!! ![]() ![]()
