As I explained to Simon, this coat (British tailored, size 46, probably 1940s, super heavy cloth, back-belt, very good condition) came from ebay a couple of years ago for £50. The fact that coats like this can still be found at very reasonable prices, is one of the reasons that I try to discourage SJC from making coats.
And today I am wearing double-breasted Harrods overcoat, in heavy black wool, that possibly dates back to the 1930s - again in very good condition. That cost me just £18. How can an SJC overcoat compete with such prices?

I think we'll see big changes in twenty years' time or so.

20 years!!!! Based on the age group of lots of SJC customers, by that time SJC will be designing zimmer frames and incontinence pants ...

Well, in twenty years' time I'll have two more years on my contract, so I'll either be looking at convincing the university to keep me on, or suicide, because I won't be able to afford to live, much less buy clothes, now our pensions have been totally shafted! :-)
