It has a spearpoint collar. Take a look at the model, you can see it even though the collar is open.
I wish it wouldn't have the standard t-rex sleeves.

Sooo nice!! I just have to ask, when do you usually get paid in the UK and US? Because in Sweden I get my salary on the 25 every month. So I miss out on the early access this time. Hopefully not all are gone in 10 days!

Very nice. I can understand why some people would prefer a more obvious spearpoint collar but, for me, the fabric is so nice that it doesn't matter. I am still not sure why this is a 'work shirt' ... I know people will say 'It has a pocket, so it can't be a dress shirt' (really? does that matter?) but i just think of it as a shirt made from a really interesting fabric. For me, no label is necessary.
Me, I like the collar. Short spearpoint is the classic.

From a British perspective, long spearpoint collars were not that common. So a collar of this type has a very 'mid 20th Century' look. It might appear bland, but it is authentic.
I am looking in the online store and i cannot see any products at all!

I think it's smashing!
@Sean Longden; I think it may only be accessible via the link in the 'members' email... that's the only way I can see the items in the shop.

Ah. I always forget about the emails. So it's forum members only at this stage?

For me, no label is necessary. Agreed on all counts. In the English tradition if you're being really strict, shirts ith pockets were frowned on, but I suspect that rule a] comes from the days and class where a waistcoat was a norm with all suits, and in practiced was only ever really adhered to by the sort of idle rich who cared about 'u' and 'non-u' type distinctions.

I think it looks fantastic as a whole but I understand the comments on the spearpoint collar.
The collar here may well be the typical look of the day, it does look good and we accept the case for it being historically the norm, however, the spearpoint collars on the last round of dress shirts were really something. The SJC spearpoints made others' attempts look clumsy and I would like to see them return, if possible. Maybe not on a work shirt but future dress shirts would go down very well with the style - at least with me. |
