Me too.

You are using JPEGs/ developed images rather than RAW for upload into the shop, right?
At any rate I do occasionally see this wave-like opposite-colour stuff on heavily downsized images that have been downsized not by an image program but by website software/ upload - even Imgur. You can see it here on the trousers as well, even if you go to full size (as available). I believe this image only went through Imgur. (Side note: on a notebook monitor you may not be able to see the difference.) (05-16-2019, 02:46 PM)SJC Wrote:

I did wonder if it was due to the way the photos were manipulated for the web, after I posted the photos - I hadn't noticed the wavy pattern of the blue and rust splashes, especially on the left just under the collar. I can see a similar affect in the trousers in the above photo, but not in the shirt in the same photo.
It's a great shirt Simon, and I'm perfectly happy with it, but you should probably upload some new photos to the store just so the detail shots show the fabric as it truly is. The photos of the cobalt shirt have a similar affect, with splashes of pink: ![]()

I totally see the artifacts too. It almost looks purple for which I would blame a strange moiré effect. I think the salt and pepper fabric was difficult to capture too.
I don't know if the downsizing of the jpegs are to blame as suggested by Nick or if the effect is already in your pictures? Salvs close up image looks actually better than the shop pictures. So it's doable. This seems a lot of work but better than disappointed customers (or not buying because they don't like the colorful https://photographylife.com/how-to-remov...-photoshop http://www.ishootshows.com/2012/04/09/un...otography/

I'm pretty sure it's not on the original images. Today's digital SLRs and system cameras are too good to render colour that badly - even entry market models.

From the second link: Quote:The paradox of this phenomenon is that the quality degradations of moiré most often occur with images that otherwise possess extremely high image quality. After all, any lack of optical sharpness would naturally blur detail and spread the information over multiple photosites on sensor, preventing misinterpretation by any one pixel. Moiré is a beast of precise imprecision. I believe this is what happened here. Image compression might make it worse. But the fine pattern is just a bitch to get right.
Elba linen shirt in cobalt blue, with rust waffle polo...
![]() ... and jade chinos. ![]() The jade is a true pastel jade green, not just grey with a greenish cast as one closeup in the shop might suggest (the total shots show the true colour). It's lovely. All in all I think SJC is doing a great job at rendering the fabric colours accurately on the shop pages. It's not easy, you know.

Now that these shirts have been photographed with the new linen suits, it might be a good idea to do another marketing blitz on the shirts soon. The texture and colour of the linen suits works well with the texture and colour of the suits, so marketing the shirts in that combination could be popular (especially if you are using nice close up images to show the detail):

Im so glad you got these Guille, they were slow to fly out, but eventually did. They were designed to pair with the linen suits, but are not exclusive. Cant wait to see them together on you. Funny tho, people didn't "get" the idea behind the classic linen shirt.

The weight is so good that unless I roll my sleeves and let them out later showing minor creases the rest of the shirt justs drapes nicely. The pattern has been improved with the high armholes. I was tempted to buy more but can't at the moment. These will get a lot of wear I'm sure and personally here I see them almost as a 4 season shirt.
