they are beautiful Simon. I love the tobacco for the peak lapel and the grey for the notch the most.

The King Cole in supermarine blue is gorgeous! Do sizes in trousers and jacket run the same as in the flannel suit?

Cheers fellas, they run true to size. Trousers and jacket are both tremendous fits. Order with confidence.

Photos of the jacket liner incl sleeve liner and trouser waistband liner are missing, plus description of the internal construction.

These look great.
i don't like this photo though, it makes the belt look like it is sagging: ![]() I also think you should include some close up photos of the fabric in order to show highlight the texture and weave. I also agree with nick about showing the interior construction. My big problem with these suits is that i want all three colours in the 1930s suit, plus the blue vanderbilt jacket. And my bank manager might object!

P.S. I am very pleased to see the actual chest measurement has been included on the size charts.

On the matter of colour-mixing - does the website show them being worn like that? (Not seen it). Could be a selling point for those who might not otherwise think of it.
Perhaps also worth showingb the trews / jackets in this mixed and matchedc with other pieces - e.g. the navy blue blazer and such, a visual hint to people who already have these other pieces that they can buy bits from this range and work them in to what they already have, instead of just seeing these as a suit as price X? Has the website had an article on "building a vintage-style capsule wardrobe (for holidays or otherwise)" for those new to this?

"does the website show them being worn like that?"
It doesn't at the moment. It might actually be a good marketing device to use once the initial sales slow down. By re-shooting the suits in mix-and-match combinations it would become a good excuse to send out more marketing materials. It could also include shooting the jackets combined with cream trousers (which we all know would look great). If only there were matching caps in the three fabrics, then it could be done as a three-way combination (imagine the trousers in grey, the jacket in tobacco and the cap in blue ... Wow!).
I wouldn't advertise a linen suit as year-round wear. Doing so just sounds like you're trying too hard to sell them now when we're heading out of the season (in the northern hemisphere).
Linen, heavy or not, is clearly not a winter fabric even if it's a mild winter. Wear it below 10 celsius and you'll freeze. Three-season, yes. Year-round, no. And on a sartorial side note, wearing summer fabrics in the winter is one of the few no-go's that exist for a reason. Linen is the quintessential spring/summer fabric, like no other. 'Buggy self-lined and easily adjustable'. Adjustable meaning what, easy to alter? Buggy lined meaning quarterlined? There are different ways to do a quarter lining. What about the sleeves?

Although, don't forget Simon sells to people all around the world. There are places where a 15 oz linen suit would be great in winter.

That would be perfect here in California all year round.

I'm aware of that. It doesn't seem logical to me, though, to call linen suits year-round just because in some parts of the world the climate is subtropical.
By the same reasoning, heavy tweed jackets would be unwearable because in some parts of the world there is only heat, dry spells and monsoon. |
